Android is a mobile operating system designed for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It is based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open-source software. Google released the latest android version on the 15th of August 2022, and it is android 13.
The Android team has been working on some features that will be available soon. Some of these developments are already available on the android 13 version but without an official announcement, some are new to all of us and we all deserve to know what these new features are.

-
Nearby Share
There are several ways we use to share files between two android devices, these include using Bluetooth, SHAREIT, etc. But with the new android 13, Google has made things a lot easy for us. Android 13 now has a feature that will allow copying and pasting text between smartphones quick and seamless. This feature will be available on Nearby Share, a new software by Android.
Nearby Share will make it easy to share photos, videos, and even folders between android smartphones, tablets, and chrome books. Nearby share which will be available in a few days, will make it easy to transfer files between your own two devices that are signed into your Google account. Transfers will take place even when the screen is off. This is a huge upgrade for android phones, and it’s definitely something we should all look forward to.

Redesigned widgets for larger screen
Android presented a new look to android devices, they feature a larger screen, and now allow drag and drop in split-screen for Google Workspace applications. Google also plans to expand the productivity of tablet features and has now redesigned the widgets for Google Drive and Keep. To make your lists easier to read and access, the Keep widget is now bigger and consists of a larger font size. According to an inside source, all these features will make the android devices excellent to use and people should expect even more to come.

Emojify
We all love emojis, expressing ourselves has even become better with all the emojis at our fingertips. The new android version 13 now consists of “Emojify” features. We will now be able to Emojify your text messages by simply tapping the magic button known as the “Emojify Button after filling a sentence. After tapping the button, select a preferred layout and then send. However, this awesome Emojify feature is currently only available in the Gboard beta app in English. Furthermore, a lot of other emojis have been added to those already available but they are available as stickers via Gboard.
If you love emojis as I do, then you will definitely enjoy this upgrade which allows you to combine different emojis and mix them into customized features. I look forward to all these features, I think they’ll make the texting thing a lot better than be.

Google Meet will allow live sharing and multi-spinning
Another exciting feature will be added on Google Meet, and that’s live-sharing, which will allow you to co-watch YouTube videos, play games, and also interact with others through Kahoot. You’ll be able to interact with about 100 friends and family. It will also allow you to focus on more than one person while in the large group call. This is indeed an exciting upgrade.

The latest Android will now feature custom sound alerts
Google expands sound notifications with custom alerts for any sound to help the hearing impaired. A feature called sound notification was initially introduced in Android 12, and it was very helpful to the hearing impaired. For starters, it allowed users who can’t hear things like emergency alarms to see a notification on their phone.
This feature has recently been upgraded again and is much better as it now allows users to record and set custom sound notifications. Again, rather than just relying on what the device thinks are important sounds, the user will be able to record and label custom sounds they deem important, so once the phone detects these sounds, it will notify the user.
Google’s machine learning in this new android version can achieve this by simply listening for sounds it may think are very important to the deaf user. The new feature will be able to detect even more sounds, including baby cries, running water, a beeping microwave, and more. This is the most amazing and thoughtful feature Google has ever invented and will indeed help many lives.
-
Google TV Audio Descriptions
With the new advancements, Google TV Descriptions will now be able to interpret live visual information so that those who are blind or low-visioned cannot miss a thing. There’ll be audio-described movies on Google TV, and users can access them by just tapping the Google Assistant button and saying “Search audio description movies.” This is another thoughtful feature we will now have access to on Google’s android version 13.

Google Wear OS keep and Bitmoji watch face
Google has introduced some updates on the Google Wear OS, the improvements are minor but very noteworthy. According to an inside source. Users will soon be able to enjoy a Google Keep Tile, with some Bitmoji avatars to their watch faces. The Google Keep Tile is the more significant addition as it will allow users to quickly dictate notes directly from the Wear OS watch. Existing checklists will also be managed from the wrist and that’s awesome for those who like to use Google Keep on their android smartphones or tablets.
All these new exciting features will make android smartphones even more fun and helpful. And as we look forward to more advancements in the future, we will currently be happy with these.
