Microsoft made the recent announcement about support for the Logitech G Cloud handheld console through Xbox Cloud Gaming. The announcement means that the handheld Logitech G Cloud comes with full pre-installed Xbox Cloud Gaming support. The Logitech G Cloud is an Android-based streaming-only handheld that has been priced at £299.99 and will launch in North America on 17th October.
Full support for Xbox Cloud Gaming means the Logitech can play games such as Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Halo Infinite, and other quality games which are available in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Deathloop which has recently been added to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will also be available for play. Fortnite can be played for free without a subscription.
Has the handheld been seen before? Last week at the Tokyo game show the legendary video developer Hideo Kojima was spotted with a handheld device as he stood next to Phil Spencer, Xbox boss. It seems he may have been holding the Logitech G Cloud though we can’t be entirely certain since the likeliness cannot be ignored.
While it slightly resembles Nintendo Switch Lite with its screen borders, buttons, and dimension, the G Cloud can rightly fall into the Xbox family with its Xbox Cloud Gaming access. With extended battery life and streaming options, the handheld offers gamers the best gaming experience even while on the go.
The Logitech G Cloud comes with a Nintendo Switch design, has a 16:9 full-screen display, ergonomic controls, built-in Wi-Fi, and 12+ extended battery life making it easy to stay online longer for multiplayer sessions. It is portable with a 7-inch full HD 1080p touchscreen with 463g of weight.
The Remote Play feature is also available on the Logitech G Cloud and can be pinned to the home screen as a shortcut. This means you can easily stream your full Xbox library giving you access to games that are not in the Xbox Game Pass.
The new handheld device also supports other video game streaming services like Nvidia, and GeForce Now and you can also stream games on Steam games via the steam link. Other remote play and video streaming games from the Google Play store can also be downloaded.
As a handheld, Logitech G Cloud is following the steps of the Steam Deck handheld by Valve and Nintendo Switch. While the release date for North America is set for 17th October, no release date has been announced for the UK.
Logitech G Cloud comes with a fresh rate of 60Hz, a multi-touch screen, and a resolution of 1920*1080 FDH as display specs. Using Octa-core CPU up to 2.3GHz and Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G for its computing system expect more gaming power on your hands at any location you may be.
The handheld is battery rechargeable with 12+ hours of battery life, has a Bluetooth enabled feature, Liner Haptics, and is wi-fi enabled. It also supports digital USB-C headphones, a stereo speaker with a smart high voltage amplifier to give clear playback, and a stereo microphone with noise suppression and echoes canceling feature. It also comes with remappable controls with more precision than normal controllers. The touch screen, controller haptics, and audio can all be customized to your personal preference.
The USB-C 3.1 charging port will let you recharge your Logitech G Cloud within 2.5 hours and comes with 64GB storage and 4GB Ram but has a microSD slot for storage expansion. With seamless streaming as the main aim of the G Cloud, it does not have SIM card support so all cloud games need good Wi-Fi.
