Google has new phones coming out, the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro. While these handsets are only coming out on the 6th of October, it is already known what specs the Pixel 7 may have. With up to 256 GB of internal storage, 8 GB memory, a Titan chip, Google’s second-generation Tensor G2 Soc, a wireless charging feature, 4,700 mAh battery with 3Ow fast charging with pre-installed Android 13 as the operating system, so much is already out there but Google is yet to confirm if this is what users will get with the Pixel 7.
Google will release the Pixel 7 followed by a Pro version all fitted with a custom-built Titan Chip to protect the sensitive data of phone users. Different leaks have hinted at what to expect from the Pixel 7 but the latest leak has given people more to look forward to.
Speculations over details of the next-gen handset addition to Google’s Pixel family have been making rounds while the company has tried to keep things under wraps with just only a few teasers but nothing more on the phone’s hardware.
General details that the public has managed to know to include the choice of colour for the Pixel 7 and its price but this was a result of a leak while the latest online leak is nearly a full sheet of the Vanilla Pixel 7 specs. The information includes camera and display details.
The sheet was shared on Twitter by Yogesh Brar the Indian social media influencer who claimed to have gotten his hands on what may be a full list of Google Pixel 7 technical details. But the apparent leak of information reveals more similarities to the previous version in the Pixel family, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Some of the technical details on the list include:
- Computing: Google Tensor G2 SoC and a Titan chip
- Memory and internal storage: 8 GB/265 GB
- Display: FDH+ 6.3-inch OLED with 90 HZ refresh
- Operating system: Android 13
- Cameras: 50 MP + 12 MP front( main and ultrawide); 11 MP selfie shooter
- Battery: 4,700 mAh with 30W fast charging (wired) and wireless charging support
- Extra features: Bluetooth LE, stereo speakers
According to the leaked data, the Tensor G2 chip will have the same CPU as the Pixel 6 but will have an updated NPU, GPU, and modern plus other hardware. The fast charging feature that has appeared on the list was also said to be on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro before it come out but users were disappointed when it was 21-23W instead of 30W. Buyers should wait to see if this new addition will finally work on the new handset.
The selfie camera sees an upgrade and features a new sensor of 11MP up from 8MP with autofocus. According to Brar, the device has Android 13 as the out-of-the-box operating system so users will not need to update to the latest operating system. Some of the details shared by Brar seem a bit new. Still, others confirm previous leaks connected to the Pixel 7 like one that Kuba Wojciechowski made on the handsets camera software specifications.
The battery capacity of 4700mAh is almost similar to the battery capacity of the Pixel 6 of 4614mAh.
If these are indeed features of the vanilla Pixel 7 possible buyers looking for features like a 120 HZ refresh display should wait for the Pro Pixel 7 or Ultra Pixel. It is also unlikely that Google will add memory card support to any of their upcoming handsets.
The price tag for Google Pixel 7 has been rumoured to be the same price as the Pixel 6. The Pixel 7 shares some similarities with its predecessor Google Pixel 6 though the old version was launched with Android 12 and had an original Tensor SoC chip. Users will need to wait until they buy the handset to see if it’s any from its predecessor in terms of optimisation and experience.
The rumoured details seem to indicate that the new handset may have a slightly smaller screen and slightly bigger battery, which is easy to hold when compared to the Pixel 6. The new handset will be unveiled by Google on 6 October. Like other Android smartphones, the new Pixel will have a display of a punch-hole on the front and maybe a bit lighter and smaller than the Pixel 6.
While the leaked list has not brought that much excitement in potential buyers because of its similarities to the Pixel 6, customers are looking forward to seeing how the Pixel 7 will fix some of the problems that were exhibited by the Pixel 6 like glaring bugs. The few software changes that have supposedly been made may make it worth the price tag of $600 though it is the same price as the Pixel 6.
The Pixel 7 Pro which will also come out on 6th October will only get a few upgrades from the Pixel 7 with a 120 HZ refresh rate for smooth scrolling but will keep the curved 6.7-inch OLED display with QHD resolution using LTPO technology.
The storage specifications will be a bit of an upgrade from 8GB RAM to 12 GB and 127 or 265 GB memory storage. It will come with 50MP triple rear cameras and may use OIS and EIS support for taking steady videos. Pixel Pro 7 will likely boot using pre-installed Android 13 and like the Pixel 7, it will have the Tensor G2 chip and Titan security chip.
The handset may also come will use 30W charging support which can fully charge the phone within an hour according to Google. Like the Pixel 7, the Pro may have a smaller display with just a few inches compared to the Pixel 6 and Pixel Pro 6. The handset maker, Google has confirmed colour variants for the Pixel Pro 7; Obsidian, Snow and Hazel.
