Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro are coming out next week and if you haven’t thought of pre-ordering yet here is why you should. You may get a free Google Pixel Watch or a chance of owning a Google Pixel Buds Pro along with your official order.
Tipster Roland Quandt has shared this very exciting news and since he is generally reliable when it comes to such hints it may just be true. According to Quandt, Pixel 7 Pro-pre-orders will come with the Pixel Watch while Pixel 7 buyers may likely get Pixel Buds Pro earbuds if they pre-order. But the catch is that all of this will be available in the UK alone.
Whether Google will include these same pre-order packages to other international markets or if buyers elsewhere will get other different packages only time will tell once the phones hit the market next week. These free gifts though will make buying the phone a bit more appealing to some people.
The Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds Pro earbuds have already been linked as pre-order gifts for buyers in some countries. This new information follows a series of leaks and rumours that have surrounded the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones.
Price Points
Thursday 6 October is the unveiling date for the two phones from Google, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 according to what we already know. Shipping and sale dates have been set to October 18 according to reports on the ground. With these dates, everyone is eager to learn the truth about Pixel phones and their actual specs.
The Pixel watch is expected to debut on the same day as the Pixel Phones and has a retail price tag of about $350 in the US and in the UK the expected price is about £340. Considering the retail price set for the wearable, throwing it in as a freebie is quite a surprise.
The gift being paired with the much cheaper Pixel 7 is the Pixel Buds Pro which is out and available. They are not as expensive as the Pixel Watch, selling at £179 in the UK and at $199 in the US, probably why they are being paired with the Pixel 7 and not the Pro. But we will have to wait until next week to know more.
Analysis: Google has sweetened the deal
It seems Google has learnt the trick of getting a lot of sales with these pre-order gifts and they usually go a way out to make the freebies decent enough. When Google Pixel 6 was out, all pre-orders in the UK came with a free pair of Bose 700 wireless headphones and that was a sweet deal because those headphones cost half as much as the phone itself.
Pre-order gifts are usually alluring to buyers especially if they are worthwhile. Some people may likely feel inclined to consider buying a Pixel 7 phone if indeed the two Smartphones are being paired with Pro buds and a Pixel Watch as a freebie for the Pixel 7 Pro.
With financial issues as something for Google to think about giving out not-so-cheap freebies may not look like a good idea, but getting the smartwatch out there will mean more people wearing it creating more developer interest. That interest can turn into an additional investment in Wear OS.
The Pixel Watch is Google’s first smartwatch and will be coming out the same day as the new range of Pixel Phones getting more people to wear the watch is also a good strategy to push sales for both the phones and smartwatch. The new wearable design from Google is rumoured to have about 24 hours of battery life and a confirmed design of a circular screen and crown built with recycled stainless steel as seen in Google’s teaser videos.
With the Pixel 7 rumoured to share more similarities with its predecessor the Pixel 6, adding the Pixel Pro Buds as a pre-ordering gift may not be a bad idea. Rumours surrounding the Pixel 7 Pro have indicated that the phone will come with pre-installed Android 13, a Tensor G2 chip, and Titan security chip, 128+ GB of storage and 12GB RAM storage. But all details will be fully revealed on October 6 at Google’s October event when both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be unveiled.
While the pre-ordering deals look appealing, the pricing for the new Pixel phones is what will push sales. If they come out very expensive the pre-order package may not even be sweet enough for potential buyers. We will still keep you in the loop on news and updates about the Pixel Phones between now and 6 October.
